Frequently Asked Questions (Morocco Visa – UAE Residents)

General Eligibility & Process

1. Do UAE residents need a visa for Morocco?

UAE passport holders: No — visa-free for 90 days.
UAE residents on other passports: Yes — a visa is mandatory, applied for in advance.

2. How long does processing take?

Typically 5–7 working days after complete submission. Urgent requests (3 days) may be possible — subject to Embassy availability.

3. Can I apply if I’m on a UAE visit visa?

No. The Embassy only accepts applications from holders of a valid UAE residence visa (minimum 3 months validity).

4. What if my UAE residence expires in 60 days?

Your UAE residence and Emirates ID must be valid for at least 3 months from your Morocco travel date. If shorter, renew first — or contact us for advice.

Entry & Compliance

5. What documents do I show at Moroccan immigration?

Have ready:

  • Passport with visa (or UAE passport for visa-free)
  • Return flight ticket
  • Hotel confirmation (for first 2–3 nights)
  • Proof of funds (~MAD 1,000/AED 400 per week)

Digital copies accepted — but print one set as backup.

6. Is travel insurance required?

Not for the visa — but highly recommended. Medical care is good in cities, but remote areas (e.g., Sahara) may require evacuation. Basic coverage (~AED 80) gives peace of mind.

7. Do I need to show proof of funds?

Yes — immigration may ask for MAD 1,000 (~AED 400) per week of stay. Acceptable: bank statement, card + balance, or cash (AED/USD/MAD).

8. Is vaccination required?

No mandatory vaccines for UAE travelers. Yellow Fever certificate required only if arriving from risk countries (e.g., Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia). Most direct UAE flights are exempt.

Family & Group Travel

9. Can my family apply together?

Yes — but each person (including infants) needs a separate application, photo, and documents. We offer family discounts** (AED 300 per additional member).

10. Do children need their own visa?

Yes — even newborns. Required: birth certificate (English translation), photo, copy of parents’ IDs. If traveling with one parent, a notarized consent letter is advised.

11. Can minors travel with one parent?

Yes — but Moroccan authorities may ask for a notarized consent letter from the non-traveling parent. We provide a template upon request.

Documentation & Rejections

12. What makes a strong NOC letter?

The Embassy prefers:

  • Company letterhead & stamp
  • Your full name, passport number, and monthly salary
  • Clear approval for travel to Morocco
  • Duration of leave

We review and refine your NOC — free of charge.

13. Is an invitation letter mandatory?

Not mandatory — but highly recommended**. A letter from a Moroccan host, hotel, or tour operator significantly strengthens your application, especially for first-time applicants.

14. What are common reasons for visa rejection?

Top causes:

  • Incomplete or inconsistent documents
  • Low bank balance (
  • Short UAE residence validity
  • Unclear travel purpose

We do a free pre-check to prevent these issues.

Extensions & Long Stays

15. Can I extend my visa in Morocco?

Yes — by applying at the local Service Étranger (Foreigners’ Office) before expiry. Required: valid reason, proof of accommodation, and fee (~MAD 500). Approval is discretionary.

16. What if I overstay my visa?

Fines: MAD 1,000 (~AED 400) + MAD 100/day. Overstays >30 days may lead to deportation and future entry bans. Extend before expiry.

Transit & Regional Travel

17. Can I transit through Morocco without a visa?

Yes — if you remain airside (≤24 hours) and have a confirmed onward ticket. If you wish to leave the airport (e.g., for a Casablanca layover), you’ll need a visa — even for a few hours.

18. Can I visit Spain (Ceuta/Melilla) with my Morocco visa?

No — Ceuta and Melilla are Spanish territories. To enter, you need a valid Schengen visa** — your Morocco visa does not grant access.
